The program will examine basic wiredrawing lubrication principles and lubricant chemistry. The wiredrawing process generates significant heat, which affects the lubricants’ ability to ensure quality wire production. The amount of generated heat is caused by factors that include the metal composition, surface preparation, and production equipment. Understanding how the lubricant chemistry interacts with the other wiredrawing factors allows for optimization of the wiredrawing process.
